The Bearfoot Trail begins at mile marker 270 on the north side of Hwy 87. Here you will find parking for 4 to 6 cars. A small gate marks the entrance.
The Bearfoot Trail meanders for 6 miles in the fuel break adjacent to Portals 2, 3, and 4 ending north of Camp Lo Mia and the beautiful Bearfoot Bridge that was built by PS Trails volunteers.
Over the first four miles the grades are generally gentle however, the trail surface of rocky sandstone may challenge some mountain bikers. The final two miles are generally smoother and shadier as you ride through a canopy of pines.
A reminder that there are no exit points on Bearfoot Trail. Users must do an out and back or use other trails to exit trail system. The Bearfoot Trail intersects the Pine Canyon Trail 26 just beyond the Bearfoot Bridge. Here, trail users can go north or south on the Pine Canyon.
